As one of the original trailblazers in the local Marikina Shoe Industry, Alice Jose launched into the Marikina-made scene with an unbranded shoe shop along the shopping district fronting the Philippine Women's University in the late 1970's.
Today over 30 years later, JOSÉ is as bold and vibrant as ever
our craft
JOSÉ places importance on craftsmanship. Each JOSÉ piece is meticulously crafted in the brand's original Marikina studio. Developing an actual product such as a handbag takes about a week - from pattern to product. One hand-crafted bag is the product of one full day of work.
In producing its pieces, the brand tries its best to be as zero-waste as possible. Each product has different cuts of material which means each piece you buy is uniquely yours!
our ethos
JOSÉ takes pride in artistry. Each design for a bag, shoe, or accessory is crafted by Alicia Jose. At a time when most local brands (and even international brands) have shifted to the use of synthetic leathers, JOSÉ was, and still is, determined to go against the grain. Their leather is sourced from Spain and Italy; the shoe molds from Europe and Japan.
